There's been a much publicised strike at the Lindsey Oil Refinery.
My cousin's husband started a new job there and had the induction day.
The next day he was on strike.
He goes 'back' to work tomorrow.

Well, somehow, I don't think that L. on his very first day had much to do with the strike, but it takes a brave (foolhardy) man to stand out against his colleagues and his union, and he'd have to be very much convinced that the cause was not just to do so.
I have heard some strikes in Britain are becaue the immigrants are given jobs first. I suppose they are paid less?
I do hope it will be over soon, for they can become quite nasty. JW

Hopefully, these strikes can be avoided at a time like we're going through now!!!
