Yesterday was St. Swithin's day.
It rained, including a spectacular thunderstorm just after midnight on what was technically by then July 16th.
If there is truth in the legend that means it will go on raining until August 24th.

Not my wish, but a traditional belief. As I write the rain is coming down in stair-rods, the thunder is doing what thunder does, and the cat is helping me to type with his paws round my neck for safety grasping me a little tighter with each crash.
